Lourdes Bruwer

Lourdes Bruwer graduated from the University of Stellenbosch in 2003. After completing her community service year in Calvinia, she went straight into private practice. She spent some time working under esteemed Occupational Therapists before taking over a well established private practice in 2006. Lourdes has always shown a keen interest and passion for Sensory Integration and completed post-graduate training in Sensory Integration in 2008. Lourdes has a passion for the younger child, especially after having her own children. She has dedicated most of her time and energy on growing her family and currently works part time.

Kendal Pietersen big

Kendal Pietersen

Kendal joined our team in January 2016. She graduated with a bachelor of sciences degree in Occupational Therapy in 2013, at the University of the Western Cape. As a qualified Swim SA instructor, she pursued opening her own swim school with a focus on water safety for infants and child stroke correction between 2012 and 2014. Kendal has a heart for children and assisted in establishing early childhood developmental programmes and career training for informal settlements at a local NGO, TLC, before beginning her community service. She completed her community service at Red Cross War Memorial Children’s Hospital in 2015 and worked in the ICU, Burn ward, and General medical wards. Kendal thrives on being part of the process of development, and appreciates the uniqueness of each individual child, finding value in their strengths and pursuing a brighter future for them because of it.

Manja Otero big

Manja Otero

Manja joined our team in August 2014. She is first and foremostly a creative soul who is passionate about children. She completed her bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy in 2011 at the University of Stellenbosch. She then completed her community service year in the Northern Cape, serving the rural community of Kimberly as a mobile occupational therapist. It is here that she discovered her deep passion for children from all walks of life. Her journey took her back to Cape Town in 2013 where she worked in the heart of the Eerste Rivier community at Horizon Youth Centre, a development centre for youth who are in conflict with the law. She decided to join the private sector to develop as a professional in the field of paediatrics where she can continue embracing her passion for children. Manja has qualified in a number of professional development courses and is busy completing her sensory integration qualification through SAISI.

Peng an big

Peng-An Feng

Peng-An graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy from the University of KwaZulu-Natal in 2013. After completing her community service year in Harrismith, Free State, she worked as a locum at a rehabilitation facility. She then joined the OT team at Livingstone Primary School, a remedial school in Durban, where she spent most of 2015. In her time there she supported children with sensory, motor and visual perceptual challenges. In pursuing her passion for working with children she is currently in the process of completing her qualification in sensory integration through SAISI. She is friendly and kind and has a quiet sense of calm which puts the children she works with at ease. She is keen to share her knowledge and ability in working with children and assisting them to reach their full potential.

Nicole big

Nicole Swart

Nicole graduated from the University of the Western Cape in 2015. She recently completed her community service year in 2016 in Port Elizabeth at Livingstone Tertiary Hospital. Here she treated an array of different diagnoses and gained experience in developmental pediatric disorders such as Cerebral Palsy, Fetal Alcohol Syndrome and Attention Deficiency Disorder. Whilst completing her community service year she chose to spend two months within the Pediatric Burns Unit at Dora Nginza Secondary Hospital in Port Elizabeth, treating children with burn injuries and developmental delays. Nicole has always been extremely passionate about helping children, keeping to the mindset of all children have bright futures ahead of them and that they should have as little obstacles in their way to achieving their dreams. She strives to encourage children to reach their full potential and has loads of fun in therapy whilst doing so.
